Latch and Post Gate Repair Sacramento has been fixing gates around this city since 2009, and the crew doing the work is local through and through. We’re part of the Cedarwell family of independently owned gate specialists, which means our technicians train to one standard but live here, shop here, and know what Sacramento summers do to a gate hinge. The four people below are the ones you’ll actually see in your driveway. Between them they’ve handled everything from a sagging wooden driveway gate in Land Park to a failed opener control board in Natomas.
Styles & brands we work with

Our People
Cody Beckman, Owner
Cody founded Latch and Post Gate Repair Sacramento in 2009 with a simple idea: tell people the truth about what’s wrong with their gate, fix it, and stand behind the work. He’s the one who answers the phone on nights when something’s gone sideways and the gate won’t close before a family leaves for the airport. Cody has spent years on LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, Linear, Viking, Ghost Controls, DoorKing, Elite, and Mighty Mule equipment, and he’s the first to say that every gate comes down to two parts, the latch that holds it and the post that carries it. That’s the job we focus on. He still walks job sites regularly and has been known to point at a gate covered in rust and ask the homeowner how long it’s been since the Clinton administration serviced it.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been turning wrenches on gate operators for over a decade and handles most of the complex electric gate repair calls across Sacramento. He’s factory-trained on LiftMaster and DoorKing systems and has a particular knack for diagnosing intermittent opener faults that other technicians miss or dismiss as “just a sensor.” Marcus carries a torque wrench and a multimeter with the same seriousness most people reserve for their phone. When he’s not on a job, he’s rebuilding a clapped-out Honda in his garage in Citrus Heights, which he claims is good practice for the patience gate work requires. He’s usually the guy who solves the problem on the first visit.
Elena R., Senior Installer
Elena runs our gate installation work, from fresh post setting in East Sacramento to full driveway gate systems up in Rocklin and Roseville. She’s been installing gates since before Latch and Post opened its doors and has a background in welding and metal fabrication that comes in handy when a post needs a custom bracket or a frame needs reinforcing. Elena is certified on FAAC and BFT automation and has installed enough operators to know exactly where the power drop should go before the concrete truck arrives. She’ll tell you the truth about lead times on custom gates, even when the answer is “longer than you want it to be.” Her two dogs, both rescues, occasionally appear in the passenger seat of the work van.
Devon P., Service Coordinator
Devon is the voice you’ll most likely hear when you call (279) 266-8501. He schedules every repair and installation, confirms the technician’s arrival window, and makes sure the written price gets emailed before anyone shows up. Devon grew up in Oak Park and has a mental map of Sacramento traffic that beats any navigation app when a gate emergency call comes in during rush hour. He’s the one who’ll tell you the technician is running twelve minutes late and offer to shift the window rather than leave you wondering. Before joining the team, Devon worked in logistics, and it shows in how the calendar actually works. He keeps a tin of peppermints on his desk and will not apologize for it.
Nico B., Apprentice Technician
Nico joined the crew two years ago and is on the fast track to full certification, riding along with Marcus and handling a lot of the residential gate repair diagnostics under supervision. He’s currently training on Ghost Controls and Mighty Mule systems and has become the unofficial office expert on solar-powered opener retrofits, which are increasingly common on gates up in the foothills around Folsom and El Dorado Hills. Nico is meticulous about the small stuff: grease the hinges properly, sweep the gate track clean, leave the job site looking better than we found it. He’s the reason our clean-up photos actually look good. When he’s not on the back of a service van, he’s studying for his welding certification.
One Standard, Every Job
Every one of us works to the same Cedarwell C.A.R.E. values. Clean up like it is our own home: we lay drop cloths on the floor and put on shoe covers before we step inside, and you get a photo of the clean-up before the technician leaves. Ask before we move or touch anything in your yard or garage. Respect the family’s time and quiet hours, which means we can schedule around nap time if that matters to you and we choose pet-safe lubricants where there’s a choice. Explain the price before the work, always in writing, before anything gets taken apart. And behind all of it sits the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the repair or installation isn’t right, Latch and Post makes it right. No argument, no fine print. That’s the standard, whether it’s Cody on the phone at midnight or Nico sweeping the gate track on a blazing July afternoon.
